They asked me to do a family portrait (which I don't normally do) and I said "only if I can art direct" (they're both art directors). As a location I choose the old Safeway in downtown Monterey which has been turned into a Trader Joe's since. It's Charlie Trotter snapping pictures of his kitchen team at last year's Pebble Beach Food & Wine event. He had about a half a dozen cell phones and digital cameras from everyone so it took a while. It reminds me of how little you get to enjoy the local scenery while you're on location.
